Reveal the dungeon's history through secrets and clues the characters discover while exploring the dungeon. What is the dungeon's purpose? Who built it and why? What is it used for now? These questions bring richness and depth to our dungeons.Who's there? What creatures inhabit the dungeon? Are there multiple factions? Consider populating different sections with a mix of intelligent creatures wild monsters. You'd only go into one if you had a good reason. Why are the characters going there? What's the goal? Dungeons are dangerous. What does the dungeon look like? What's the layout? I love using one of the thousand Dyson Logos maps to grab a map for nearly any situation. When preparing a dungeon, we can ask ourselves a few questions: These differentiate a dungeon from walking through a city or traveling through safe woods. A dungeon is a hostile place filled with traps and monsters.A dungeon is a focused location with fixed boundaries and meaningful choices. That said, there are some common traits when running a dungeon worth considering. The in-fiction situation drives the gameplay. They're not that different from infiltrating a lord's manor to steal a relic or tracking down a murderer in a city. To me, dungeon adventures are location-based situations like any other in D&D. Some see running dungeons as a fundamentally different experience than running other parts of the game like wilderness exploration, city investigations, or other types of scenes.

Whenever I find the story of my campaigns leading to a dungeon, I feel a great sense of relief. If you’re a fan of point and click adventures then you will find some enjoyment here, but in my opinion there are better games for you to play in the genre.New to Sly Flourish? Start Here! Running a Dungeon Crawl It also suffers with a few problems that took my score down a peg or two and these problems could have easily been avoided. At the end of the day The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is a decent addition to the genre, but unfortunately it doesn’t offer anything different from the spate of games we’ve already seen this year. I did notice however that the game suffers with some animation problems and this can harm the immersion at times.

Visually the art design is packed full of colour and lots of detail, and the accompanying music really makes the game stand out in a good way. The presentation side of the game is something I really enjoyed and it definitely lends the game a certain charm.

The controls in the game surprised me because even though they were originally designed for the PC they remain responsive throughout and they never felt awkward, which is great. I do however feel that the voice over work could have been a little better and in my opinion this takes away from the very good story. The story which is very important in a game of this type is thankfully very good and they’ve done a good job of keeping things charming and interesting throughout. Some of the puzzles however are a little too difficult and in my opinion they didn’t need to make them this difficult. I will say though that this game has some of my favourite puzzles I’ve played this year and that’s mainly down to the clever design. The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is not a bad game at all but it also offers nothing different, so I can unfortunately see it getting lost in the vast amount of point and click adventures that are already out. There have been a lot of point and click adventures that have been released this year and I must admit that I’ve started to grow weary of There have been a lot of point and click adventures that have been released this year and I must admit that I’ve started to grow weary of them.
